Wild Roses Of Spring!

There's something sweeter about stumbling upon the wild, untamed beauty that nature offers in the inviting, warm days of spring.  Such was the case one lovely afternoon while I was taking a bicycle ride along the river.

Do you know how to tell if a rose is 'wild'?  If you'd like to learn more about the difference between 'wild' roses and hybridized ones, the following link is very informative...http://www.americanmeadows.com/the-wild-roses.  So, count them...there are 'five' petals and they are pink so these fit the true definition of 'wild'.  Seeing them in person I would just say they seemed a bit unruly...yet, striking in their beauty...

I wonder if a 'six' petaled rose (which I am not even certain exists) is as lucky as a four leaf clover? :)
